Does anyone have any idea how much it will cost to service and polish a ball engineer hydrocarbon mad cow from AD?

From AD? I don't think the AD will service & polish your watch. They'll merely send it in to the service centre for you. You will have to check with the service centre. Google for it, or check your watch docs if it is stated. I recalled that it was located at Bendemeer Road.

You can call BALL watch directly if your warrently expire and ask them or drop by their office @72 Bendemeer Road, #05-31 Luzerne building. You will not be disappointed to go there. I recalled it less than $300 for simple service and $80 for polish(though i maybe wrong).

but is it necessary to service it every 4yrs, as told by the service centre?

had sent my watch to replace cracked face.. then was told that watch is due for servicing...

My first 2 ball passed the 4years mark and is still working fine. Guess it all depend on the user whether or not to send for servicing. Watch companies alway ask user to send for regular servicing but it sound to me like another source of revenue for them... I will be wearing my EHC for reservist this Oct, too bad can't bring camera into camp to take pic.
