I think would depend which Carrera chrono and which Monaco Chrono are you comparing. Either side had quite a lot of variation models. Maybe ref code would be better if you couldn't post pics.

for the pricing each would be vary a lot. But if you consider resale value or pricing perhaps going for pre-owned is another options for a more affordable options if the watch that you choose did available in pre-owned market. IMHO
