Grey/gray market refers to a different distributing source that is unofficial/unauthorized by the manufacturer, though it is still legal. This refers to smaller watch companies/shops, including the private dealers. They form the 'grey market'.
I stand corrected.

Hey people,
Need some advice. i'm interested in the Portuguese automatic 50017 (blue ali strap one)
The list price is 18k. The airport net price is 14299 (18k less 15% std discount = 15300 and then remove GST 7% divide by 1.07 = 14299)
Is there any AD giving 25% ie 18K less 25% = 13500
OR 25% discount does not exist anymore and airport is the best price
Thanks

really? i've been to the boutique a few times, never bought any watch there before though (except for a gator strap for my missus' portu chrono), but each time i found their service to be pretty decent. i asked to see a few watches there, including the good expensive stuff, and they've always indulged me. even when i'm wearing polo/berms/flipflops and strutting around with my G-Shock

Well, I'm not sure which saleslady attended to her, but sadly, it always the case with many sales people here who gives "preferenial" treatment due to skintone, totally unlike the Japanese salespeople I came across who serve with professionalism and enthusiasm equally.
haha... Richemont was lucky to still have your business with the 3straps. I bet the next time u return, the saleslady will treat you diffenently... maybe even remember your name! hehe...

generally, the price difference for a watch that comes with either leather or bracelet is can be between ~700-1000 where bracelet will cost more. as for discount on IWC, it is very much controlled these days. depending on models and popularity, the range of discount can be from 0-(~15%)

Anyway, for the Portofino, I think they are in 4-5k range in Stainless Steel.
