Can someone please PM me the details of a recommended AD who can provide a good discount.

Btw, what does AD stand for?

I'm in Singapore until Tuesday morning, so if anybody can quickly PM me the details I'd be most appreciative!

im actually unsure about what happens when you buy second hand and the warranty is undated and stuff, can you enlighten me whats the problems which occur when warranty is required? thanks

at least from my experience with RM, if u send in a watch dated or undated and claim warranty for any faults, they will run a check with the AD on the sale date. if it's past warranty period, that whatever date would not hold its warranty. it's the policy of present local ADs to date the watches they sell (at least for Richmont brands).

just to add on if u don't mind on the issue of buying from grey dealers. i'm still of the view that a grey dealer is a better buy. take the BP for eg. New is about 13k. They don't increase price, unlike local AD. Watch repairs are not so scary like expensive cars. worst case u get a 2k job if it's a serious fault which still would be much cheaper than the local AD. If im not wrong, the BP u got was 19 to 20k considering the recent price increase and discount reduction. also, the odds of breaking down are very slim and the ones from the reputable dealers here should have valid warranty. anyway, with or without, it'll still save u a few k.

my take is as long as the watch is easily available, rolexes, pams, BPs, why not? but it's just my view and hope you don't take it personally but just another option for u should u intend to buy a popular watch again. i got friends who pay quite a bit more for daytonas and pams and i see so many lying around in forums. it's always puzzling but i know there are ppl who just prefer this option and i respect that.

not a lot of bnib big pilots around by the time i got to buying. the warranty was a rather large issue to consider as well.

i understand. i went through the BP issue with RM once cos warranty was undated. luckily, i managed to return it to the dealer. at least, u get peace of mind with local AD

just got an iwc big pilot. stuck at 15% discount. then again i know no ads to get extra discount tho, i checked quite a few shops around the orchard area and none were willing to give any more than 15%, finally just got it at ngee ann city sincere

great watch...not trying to spoil the party but the BP is a watch available through many other sources at a better price. anyway, to each his own as ADs do have better chance of warranty claims, as what i had experienced before. there are pros and cons for either way. but given the watch is easily available, a used one may be more cost effective.
