Advice on Portuguese Automatic Chronograph 3714

Need advice on the above watch before commiting to it next month.
Advice on retail price (local AD), availability and popularity would be greatly appreciated.
Now currently hestitating between this piece and 3717.
Which one is a better choice for an IWC starter??

It is a lovely watch and was my first IWC as well, although most ppl go for the pilot watches. If you can afford the 7 days reserve one, even better although the like the black dial one.

The Portuguese Chrono should set you back slightly more (i.e.: costs more) than the Pilot 3717. If you are in the market for a dress watch, definitely the Portuguese is the one to get. Otherwise, 3717 is a more "all rounder" watch. By the way, the Portuguese wears slightly larger on the wrist than the 3717. For a starter, both will serve the purpose very well. My piece of advice, shop around and you may find excellent deals for very mint preowned piece. Black dial is a popular choice.

i know the retail price for 3717 is $7600
Depending on my yr end bonus, if i can affort definitely would go for the 7days..
