anyone who've owned and sold your Tudor...please share...
the heritage edition is an entirely new direction that tudor is going at... they have never released a "re-edition" before, so it's hard to say whether or not it's a worthy deal (in all sense of the phrase... as there has been no precedent!)

1st thing to bear in mind: when the chrono was released for public viewing during basel 2010, along with its RRP... the consensus was that it was on the pricier side.

this is going in line with (almost) all watch brands to continually go "up market" by having regular mark ups.

having said that, this is an unusual watch - a 45min modern chrono modified by tudor, in an unsigned-by-rolex oyster case, contemporarily (sic?) sized.

it would appeal immediately to 1. current tudor/rolex lover 2. MC collectors 3. potential tudor customer/converts (it IS a beautiful watch!).

a JLC will always be a JLC. in house movement and well made - however it appeals to a more selective/subdued/mature crowd - this does not make it any less prestigious. a lange is difficult to sell, but boy, is it not beautiful watch?

if you do not have money to spare for both, i would recommend buying a pre-owned memovox first, and wait for more used pieces of the tudor chrono to start floating around AND for its price to settle.

in that way, you can have your cake and eat it too - just not while it's hot out of the oven.

if you MUST buy brand new now, i feel the tudor chrono might be a better buy as it would slightly easier to sell if you were to flip it shortly after (IMO).

2nd thing to bear in mind: JLC's tribute to polaris (and perhaps even the logines legend diver) is more principled than the tudor heritage chronograph. it is a long way from even seiko's historical collection series.

in effect, you're buying tudor's modern interpretation of the MC. are you okay with that? or are you a purist? in the case of the latter; the new chrono CANNOT and WILL NOT satisfy that evil WISire...

i can only wonder if they will have other "heritage" watches; heritage submariner... heritage date-day... ???

and the 3rd thing to bear in mind: while we all strive to minimize our buy/sell losses, watches (at our "level" anyway) do more than tell time. surely that monetary loss is worth it...?

if you're unsure about both the tudor and the jlc (ie, your emotions), why not wait a while more and see what else can you buy with that amount of money you've set aside?
