I know a lot of aviation professionals love the B1. In fact, I have contemplated purchasing one for myself sometime ago. In the end, however, I chose a Breitling Aerospace Avantage SuperQuartz instead and I'm very happy with it. It's extremely accurate. the SuperQuartz (as you might have already known) autocompensates the effects of temperature change on time. I've synced my Aerospace with the Singapore Atomic Clock and it runs +1 sec per 2 months. The B1 is a whole chunk of steel, very utilitarian watch and looks impressive on the wrist. However, because of my indulgence in automatic watches, I can no longer get used to the seconds hands ticking away on a quartzie... that's the reason why I got the Aerospace over the B1. In a lot of reviews, you'll notice aviation professionals comparing the B1 to the Aerospace to the Omega X33. I've come to realise that a Breitling makes a good travel companion when u fly around the globe, with it's twin time and alarm features. Also, not many ppl recognises that it's a branded watch as readily as one would with a Rolex.
But the next SuperQuartz on my list will be the Breitling Emergency...
I love my one :-)
I have the B1 since about 2 years (the older Model) .
The only thing that is not perfect is that second timezone and date is not to see on the dial, you have to switch it in between.
But others thatn that, it's a great watch..
