  • Hublot a good watch to buy??

    Hi All,

I'm wondering if Hublot is a good brand to buy?? Interested in their Big Bang series but are they value for money?? What;s their average pricing and any "Investment" potentials??

    Pls advice...

  • #2
Extremely difficult to resell and be prepared to lose big. There may be no takers even if you can afford to lose big $$. Just do a search in this forum and you will understand what I mean. Dun get me wrong, I like Hublot Big Bangs too but can't bear to lose so much $$.

      Hublot watch nice.

Difficult to resell. Will lose a lot before anyone buys.

      Hence investment value unlikely.

Value for money. Not to me. As they are also ETA based.
Charging >15k for ETA based watch.

Most big brands with ETA based charge <10K

For that amount i can get IWC BP 7Days, PAM 233, Daytona
Audemars Piguet Ball Bell&Ross Cartier IWC Longines Omega Panerai Rolex Sinn Tissot

      Alba Casio Citizen Roox Seiko

Wanted to add PP but bo lui

        Hublot

Hublot not so good for resale , but it got 1 of the best aftermarket service from the CEO . 5 years extended warranty and their rubber straps is one of the most comfortable among big brands like AP and PP .

Ok...so base on the sensing, Hublot is a watch that can buy but not for resale right??

Anyone has any idea how's the market demand for this brand? Dun really see much locals wearing this watch though... How about overseas? Demand better??

              Hublot

Overseas should be ok , There's a group of hublot Fans in timezone , very active , even the CEO of hublot also part of the group , any complaint just shoot PM to him , and he will get someone to call you very soon , haha....
That's what i did , and soemone from spore Hublot call me the very next day .

BTW i dunno why , but i saw more Hublots than any other brands in the casino VIP platinum room except for rolex , That's where i meet my friend and test his hublot on my wrists and decided to go get it , i always used to think that Hublot is a poor's man AP ROO , untill i own one myself .
Although , i might want to sell my Hublot BB , but i will still buy another to replace it , Just like i will always replace my PAM if i sell it away .
AP is also another Brand that i would always want to have in my collection .

Yes very true about the depreciation point. But then again, get something u really urge.

Give yourself a cooling period. If you feel u really like Hublot now, wait a while, perhaps to see if any good pricing comes along, if by then ( perhaps a month or 2 ) if u still feel that it is the one, then GO FOR IT !!

Dun tink about depreciations since it is something u appreciate. Keeping to build up ur collections is always good.

Next time if you really wana offload to upgrade, I am sure you can post here and if your price is reasonable, someone will take it from u. Post some WRIST shots after you buy ok.

                Ciao,

personally, i would recommend hublot ONLY about 4-5 years ago, it was still relatively unknown compared to now.

i got a hublot regulateur and my wife got a quartz.

unique watch and elegant to wear for functions.

until JCB decided to come out with the Big Bang series, i feel that it is no longer that desirable.

                  why?

                  1) if you take out the big bang series away from hublot, any other signature series that stands out?

                  2) it has gone the AP way, one standard mainstream case. then different material, special series, limited production. i feel that they are just copying AP.

                  3) with the amount money you willing to splash on a hublot big bang, there are quite a number of other options you can consider. a GO senator perpetual? a lange 1? you can even buy the holy grail of rolex - daytona which itself has so much better resale value compared to hublot

Agree strongly with the above 3 points. One of the reason why if I have 15k, I would not consider Hublot. Actually, might not even consider AP ROOs althou they are nice. reason is thesame. Too many similar designs using different materials and limted production, editons for that family. Makes ROOs look a bit like fashion watch to me.

Imagine you have pple wearing big bang some white some red some black some grey but all look similar. Roos also. You have some red, blue, white, black, orange, yellow with simiar shape and size. -> Think Toywatch direction and you can get what I meant.

don't get me started on the U1 lol.....another one imo heading towards the fashion watch family.
I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch, I dont need another watch.........

IMO the situation is the same as past years. If you like the watch just buy for wear but not resale.
Just another small small small small watch user ....
