orient watches not bad one, $600, can have auto, go and look at mustafa for not so new models.
$600 maybe able to get you a hamilton and oris.
What you should do is get to places like WOS and be nice to the sales perople and let them do the talking.Comment

Orient watches are ok but dont expect superb accuracy from their autos right out of the box. U need to know that Orient autos in general do not hack nor hand wind. In addition, some models comes with hollow end link bracelets. As long as your friend is fine with it , Orient watches are decent and pretty hardy too.
