Recommendations for an everyday watch under $1.5k?

there's also an option to add a Chronometermovement ETA 2824-2 movement to it for like US$265?
any comment on the stowa brand ?

anyway do you recommend the stowa with a stock automatic ETA 2824-2 movement or should i upgrade the movement to one that is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC)?

i think a preowned sinn u1,rolex 66946426,the older omega speedmaster/seamaster,RXW MM,rolex 1500/1600,Reveue Thommen cricket,Breitling ocean these piece will hold it value especially if u buy preowned & has a demand in the used watch market so when u need to up grade later u dun lose much except on servicing but dun buy quartz

just my 5 cents worth

nah will nv buy quartz, not with this kind of budget anyway!

but getting a preown piece is definitely an option i am not ruling out.
but the thing is , besides rolex, the other brands, is there a way to authenticate them ?

for tag, i dun really like any of their low-end designs, and the high-ends one are not worth it...

new models should be available on their new website to be launched in April.

personally i wouldn't go with the COSC certification unless it is for a better decorated movement...as for accuracy wise many people think the quality control...the watch makers at Engelsbrand have it made tuned quite well...

stowa delivery lead time is a real long affair....for me i prefer Laco...i might be biased as my daily wearer to work is a 55mm Laco auto....

i think Laco is kinda of under the radar brand that offer great watches at realistic prices...not the overhyped prices...i like to see my $$$ going to the watch design and movement instead of going to the watch company advertising bill....hahahaha...

Best part is usually ppl think that my Laco is a cheap watch from Pasar Malam which suit me just well...

i feel the same way as you too...

in fact i chose a Laco over a Stowa in buying my first flieger piece...

its not easy to convince anyone though if they ask for opinions about different choices for fliegers...cos usually the people i met whom like Laco...don't need any convincing or 'education'...

stowa is 40mm and 41.5mm cases which i find a tad too small and slim for my liking..i gunned for the 55mm becoz of the dial and case...historically most accurate so far among the brands....

Laco released the handwind models for the 55mm A and B dials recently and Stowa released their B dial 41.5mm i suppose...

So there are new poisons in town...hahaha..time to pony up the watch antidote funds liao....

55mm is great conversation piece as my wrist is real tiny and the watch make it worse...It is really a Beast....huge and heavy too....it seem to attract WISes to start a nice conversation with me during my time of 'eating snake' from work at cafes...

hmmm i dun see this piece on their online store, is it something new ? if so dunno price how much and how long need to wait liao... =(

so the suggestion is not to go for the COSC certification but just use the stock stowa movement since is quite good already?
