USA "MM" Watches recently purchased !

Hi all,

I think there is a growing number of interest on the USA "Marina Militare" watches offered by sellers in this forum.

According to Trit**, his probably is the "A series" I think, comes with a differ dial tone & no engravings on the case back and probably his watch worth more now.

I have 2 "B series".

Any comments?

there are a few versions. I am looking at the 47mm version. For the case back its optional. i.e. u can have c through or solid case back. also u can have standard movement or the ETA movement.

Hows the quality of the watch? the 44mm version?

Panerai uses a modified UTIAS movement. the 47mm also uses that. but I guess not modified.

I have the 44mms manual winding Unitas version.

Quality not bad for price paid for.

The only problem which I have to voice out :

It's ticking too loud at night.

Probably the ETA versions are softer.

original Panerai also Unitas movement ( modified) hey a ETA movement u pay much more. Unitas was a russian movement? correct me if i am wrong.

So u consider it a replica or homage piece?

Panerai purist will consider it a copy watch

Yes, definitely ticks louder than a quartz one.

Some might consider it as a lullaby but definitely wouldn't recommend light sleep users to place the watch near their bed.

But overall, I think it's still a good buy loh.

Like Triton, I got a "A series" with Orange markers too. Similarly, no engraving. So far, other than ticking loud as highlighted by horlogyfanatic, I have no complaints

seen this posting by this bro here on the 180 bucks mm..wanted to get one but was wondering whether the watch got water proof? i always have to touch water so I need a watch that at least can tahan abit of wathing underneath the tap..

find john wang lah..he got some nice 24mm philiippe chipplus (dunno what brand) strap for pam..quite nice length..
