anyway, I just thought some of you collectors would like to know that one of the world's most significant Soviet watch collections is right here in Singapore.... as written up about in Forbes magazine, The PEAK, The International Herald Tribute and the Business Times.

Soviet watches

IMHO soviet watches are quite underrated.
They are not fancy, but very sturdy and get the job done.
I never knew about the singapore collection tho.

sorry.. im a noob here.. but if i were to look out for a russian watch.. what kind of movement should i be looking out for? i read in some pages about P3133. Are there any other types that are just as good?

Russian watch is superbly value for money.
And $ of new pieces are rising.

Its design are different from Swiss; a class of its own character!
Owning a piece or 2 adds diversity to your watch collection.

Anyone has comments about Vostok-Europe?

I know Poljot is the more renowed brand..
But i chanced about this Vostok watch,, Loved the design.. and in serious contemplation... Cos I am also aware that Vostok movements aint exactly of a better quality than Poljot

i suppose most russian movements are bulletproof and durable and rugged...

I own a few piece of Vostok-Europe.
Pretty and finely crafted, does its job well enough.

Buy if you love it
I understand, each Russian watch design comes in limited production and are numbered.

And retailers in Spore brought in little quantity for each design.
So hope you don't miss your purchase

I got 2 N1 rocket and 1 Arktika. Some small little problem. One of the N1 auto winding get problem, only wind in one directing have to oil a bit to resolve issue.

Next the date jump for the Arktika got stuck midway, have to remove whole calendar mechanism to lub to get it to work perfectly.

Got another Aviator manual winding chronograph, now waiting for spare part. Very poor amplitude have to dismental and found out that the hair spring no good.

Actually they are ok. Just value for $$ but recently the prices going up a bit and the discount getting bad, so I rather buy more swiss watches before the whole econ runs out of ETA for non Swatch group company.
