One thing that i don't understand is the Authorised Dealer thingy...
Taking for example... Steinhart Direct sells the Aviation Chrono @ 755eu(shipping inclusive) excluding european tax... that means is export price right?
Gnomon sells the same thing now @ 1.12kUSD... if do a conversion with euro @ the rate of 1.33USD to EURO... you'll find that Gnomon might hv charged an addition of 110USD extra...

As an Authorised Distributor, wouldn't them be given a lower cost of the watch lesser than 755eu?...

Hmmm... now USD vs SGD is stabled @ 1.25SGD : 1USD, and 1.33USD : 1EU as well... but 1EU vs SGD is plunging... you say ley... order to Germany? Or to Beach Road?

Now in 2 mind of where to buy from. May make a trip down to Gnomon to see the actual pcs. Aiming at 2 watches. If they offer a good deal, maybe just deal with them. Better to go there, afterall website cant talk.

Haven't even ship. Only got email to say they have received payment n will give me tracking no when
Shipped.
By the way, the email was in German! Hahaha. Thanks to my handy iPhone translator, able to decipher what they're saying. Still waiting patiently for my nav b Uhr pink gold

If Gnomon charges only 1.45k for the Aviation Chrono model...
Certainly i would want to support local lah...
But when the charges are over... hmmm...

i know the thrifty in us always want to get the best deal possible but cheapest doesn't always mean the best.
Maybe look at it this way, u pay 100-200$ more for local warranty that covers 2yrs. There r 700 days in that. 700 divided by 200 is just cents per day.
ive seen the posts on WUS regarding steinhart delivery and QC, i do not wish to take that gamble.

So... i guess there're 2 groups of folks in this forum...
1. Who visit's personally to Gnomon @ Beach road and paid there in cash...
2. Who rather order from Steinhart Direct Germany for more savings...

Till today, nobody had stand out to share their experience in ordering with Gnomon, paying by PayPal...

Went down to Gnomon and pop the "Aviation Vintage" and the "Nav B-watch stainless steel". Anders was busy though as a new batch of Steinhart is in but he was very accommodating when asking for some discount. His staff serving me was nice and patient.

Just got my first Steinhart "Nav.B-Uhr II vintage Titan" Fliegeruhren 44mm. IMHO, a Swiss brand possessing outstanding quality with affordable price...

My understanding so far is the direct order is a better option as it give you more control from an exch rate persepctive.

Gonom charges a premium on the USD exch rate think it was 1.3 as I recall. but may be wrong.
