  • Sandoz Submariner - building a Rolex 5517 milsub homage

    hi,

I've recently caught on to the Milsub homage modding bug...

what is the experience of you guys/gals? What are the base watches you use ?
I've been thinking of getting a Sandoz HK sub as a base (preferably from the 1980s). Does anyone know where to find some cheap ones locally?

Hi, I'm also looking at such a homage build watch, I gotten a reference at this web-site that pretty much provides the necessary details to build one, hope your homage build came through and post a review.

My project is almost complete... just missing the right crown. It's gorgeous!

I saw the link you provided when I started ... but its not wat I'm after. The base watch he used is bigger, about size of later subs... the earlier sandoz follows the 5513 proportions and takes 3rd party rlx parts. The challenge is the available ETa dial sizes ... but I manage to get someone to work down the dial to fit.

It looks almost identical to this one on which it is based, complete with rivetted bracelet.
