Hi guys let me relieve this thread abit... Jus sent my breitling for service and overhaul at C.Melchers at wisma atria yesterday was quoted $725.00... Phewwww...!!! And it's not free if you wanna refrain from servicing.. They have an assesment fee of $25.00... If you send them the watch and decide not to service after they check and quote you...

Just called them and now it's $780 for the servicing of an avenger. I just cannot forget the feeling of owning one and now kicking my arse for selling it...crap!

Hi guys... Actually my watch's servicing and overhaul was originally quoted at $600 but cost me another $125 to replace the AR coated sapphire crystal.. Cos the old crystal all scratched and had a few dull spots...

i think they call it assessment, not verification
they dont give you a verification report, just a receipt to show they have 'assessed' the watch
they assess whether your watch needs servicing, i am sure they include assessment of authenticity of parts, though they dont explicitly put it down in black and white

likewise for preown or pawn shops
if you go preown shops with a fake watch and ask for quotation, an experienced guy who know its fake will likely tell you 'we cant take in your watch', short of giving you the reason

the same applies to bags, shoes, jewelleries - the reason is very simple, nobody has time for unnecessary trouble, eg to be held liable for their words, or worse, get involved in court case

of course if you go in with an authentic piece and got rejected, you must have an unpopular model that cant sell in resale market

Sorry mate... had my experiences only at Melchers, within the warranty period and a couple times after.
Must say that I've not had a bad experience with them at all. Sure they do charge a rather princely sum for their services but can't complain about the end product. For instance, I went to do a simple strap change and they not only did a quick service check [replaced some gaskets] but also advised that I get the longer leather strap [which they ordered for me from their Swiss HQ] rather than settle for the standard length one which just fit my wrist.

Serviced my old breitling at k2 watch at tanjong katong shopping centre and was only charged $75... But it didn't improve my watch's timing....
