  • Orient automatic watch

Any good feedback for the Orient automatic watches, price seems affordable and some nice models available.

    Are they Japan made or...??
Any idea the type of movement used?

    Thanks

Orient was one of the big three in Japan, together with Seiko and Citizen, in the old days of mechanical watches. Since the intoduction of quartz in 70's, Seiko and Citizen joined the quartz club but Orient kept to its mechanical tradition.

Nowadays, Orient has been taken over by Seiko. But Orient still maintains its line of mechanical watches with its own movements. It uses Seiko quartz movements for its quartz line. Orient will be celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2010.

Its automatic watches are very affordable and reliable too. Many forumers in the Seiko/Citizen/Orient subforum of the Watchuseek.com forum are fans of Orient. You will find many info and feedback from them.

Got few places. People's Park Cplx aka 'skywatches', carries quite an extensive range. A watch counter inside Takashimaya (men's section) also carries Orient watches.

IMO, Mustafa export section offers the most variety of models, at a very good price as well

Hing's Watches, Level 1 of Bras Basah Complex.
Kwang Guan Watches & Pens, Level 1 of Bras Basah Complex.
King Wah, Level 1 of Peninsula Plaza.

King Wah's price is really low and cannot bargain, but there is no need to!

Yup yup!king wah is damn real cheap. Pros & cons! The box for the blue mako I bought today is real damn cheapo, machiam like those Pasar malam box. They do not hv their own shop paperbag also. Give me a paper bag of some maternity clothing paper bag. But, what to do? It cheap!

Went to king wah. Nice gentleman manning the shop. Price is really very attractive. Meant to get orient watch but ended up with a seiko as the orient watch range not really wide.

Any recommendation to wider range of orient watches?

                            Thanks.
