  • Help - convert AP ROO from bracelet to strap

    Hi,

Has any bro converted your AP ROO from the bracelet to strap??

Do you use the OEM end links, straps and buckle or aftermarket parts??

I am considering to get a black hornback strap to interchange with the bracelet. Any advice you have for me is much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance!!

Bro, that's the dilemma ..... so come here to seek fellow bros' advise!

Are you using their conversion kits and hornback straps?

Can I check with you the following:

      1) How's the fit and finish on the end links (plots)? Do you whether it will look different with the titanium case?

      2) How's the quality of their hornback straps?

      Thanks in advance.

        sorry, bro,

I have not dealt with apbands b4. their reviews seem OK.

my ROO came with the OEM hornback strap, not bracelet

i ever thot of ordering a conversion kit for my steel RO dual time, but never pull the trigger.

hv u aproach the AP svc centre re quotation for the end pc + strap + buckle?

I converted my Themes from bracelet to strap using APbands conversion kit and strap. Fits well but getting the lug screws through was a hassle but I imagine it would be the same with an original AP conversion kit. APbands is good enough and much cheaper too.

the price of a full set of OEM strap and buckle will cost a bomb..but then again...those who wear AP can afford it lah...lol

              Thanks for the info.

I have not yet gotten the quote from AP service center. I was "troubling" them over the past weeks so maybe will call them next week to discuss this.

I read somewhere the cost of the end links, hornback and buckle will cost about 2k with deployant, a few hundreds less if tang buckle.

It is good to hear about the fit and finish is ok. Is yours the SS or TI version? I am still no sure whether the APBand end links (made of SS) will look different on the TI case.

Did you get the hornback strap from APBand? How is the quality?

                Thanks in advance.

hmmm... I just cannot explain this.

I have NEVER thought of putting on a strap (gator, hornback, etc) on the sports Rolex.

I have NEVER thought of putting on a bracelet on the PAMs.

I REALLY like how the ROO looks on bracelet and hornback .

NO ... Another 3 more weeks to go.

So now starting to source for the parts. IF aftermarket prices are not much cheaper, then will most probably stick to OEM.

Read about the OEM AP hornback is really good.

the more you read abt it...the more poisonous it gets...that's what happening to me now, reading abt straps for my pammy...need some self restraint really.

AP OEM hornback strap is $780 + GST. The conversion kit is about the same price or slightly cheaper. Thus, your budget should be about $1500, to be safe.

They don't sell the conversion kit to you & let you change it yourself. They'll change for you. So, you must bring your watch to their boutiques or service centre. That's their policy.
