  • Ceramic Watches

    Hi all,

Would like to clarify, Ceramic casing watches are they fragile ??

Example; Actually I'm quite a rough person.
Sometimes, I will accidentally knock my watch against the watch or drop the watch when I'm wearing my watch.

Not an expert but just want to understand more to get better picture for myself.

    Regards

All across the Brands, ceramic are brittle and at the right angle pressure/impact, it will surely definitely crack. It's just a question of how bad the crack is. And it's not exclusive to one particular brand, from Swiss to Japan, it will break if you abused it.

      You decide.

pics are are properties of their respective unfortunate owners.

ceramic watches are scratch resistant but not unbreakable..

i'd rather stick with steel and precious metal watches..

Actually i own a ceramic limited edition IWC.Was told the bezel is very fragile and avoid knocking against hard object. This is the reason why the watch has been lying in the watch winder.

It's similar to a coffee mug.

Almost scratch proof. But cannot take knocks and impact.

It's scary to look at those photos. Imagine the cost for the replacing the case, probably a few K for the IWC/Panerai.

Just try not to drop any watch, regardless of case material. The case might be the cheapest repair item if you drop the whole watch.
