  • Repairing a Sinn U1

    Hi peeps,

Just wondering if anyone has any advice on where to go to repair a Sinn U1? My warranty card is dated Jul 2011, so i'm guess the warranty has expired (it's not 3 years is it?).

The watch is able to maintain only a few minutes and when I shake it there's definitely something loose inside. Im reckoning either the rotor or mainspring came loose or something.

I suppose going to THG is an option, but can anyone share if they have had any similiar experiences with price of repair? If not convenient to post online can PM me.

Also, anyone has reccomendations on third party repair-ers of U1? Seeing that it's not argon filled and its an ETA movement.

    Thanks all!

I believe there are quite a few watch repair options out there. Search around the forum and you should see some names like ** Watch, Top Hour, Bronze Age, Precision Watch, etc. Some of the forum advertisers may provide repair service for Sinn U1. You may start by checking them out also.

        Hi Ocean!

Yeah, I saw that thread, thanks a lot mate! Actually, I'm a bit disappointed with the Sinns i've had so far as ALL of them (U1, U2, U1000, and now U1 SDR) needed to go in for repair. Just that the rest were all under warranty.

I will be asking around the watch repair shops, but actually wanted to know if anyone out there had any experience repairing their U1s from third party shops and what were your experiences like. Or unless I really so suay one and kena all the 'lemon' Sinns..

Sianz man... love the watches but so many problems.

Share your pain. Miy U2 had to go back for repair, and it was not used. Discovered only after years down the road (kept it and forgot about it in the store room). Paid $500 and it took three months to be serviced at THG. Returned with same issue BUT $$ poorer. In the end, sent locally for another $200 and it now works. Would avoid this brand. Personally, overhyped and very poor QC.

i just found out from SINN Germany that they offer a 1 year limited warranty after a full service of your SINN watch. Any SINN owners know if THG offers the same thing if they do the servicing for us here in Singapore? If they don't, can we take this up with SINN since they are SINN's appointed service centre here?
