recently, my friend and i decided to visit a local preown watch shop (golden landmark's 2nd level) to view a rolex day-date that was advertised in carousell.
had a look at the watch and started to examine closely. the case and dial was ok. upon closer examination on the bracelet, it is noted that some engraving and markings were not the same as original rolex bracelet in the same period. both of us have not seen the engraving and markings before on any other genuine pieces before hence decided to walk away from the deal.
one lesson to take away from this incident is to do thorough homework on pre-own watch pieces before buying. another lesson learn is if there is any doubt, walk away from the deal.
