just received news that a local singaporean recently got scammed. this person wanted to buy a watch from an overseas seller in another forum.
the mode of operation. overseas seller ask buyer to send over USD$800 for watch insurance to a western union account. after which overseas seller ask buyer to send over another USD$500 for courier service and taxation.
buyer only realized got scam when buyer contacted the courier company asking for tracking number.
as such please be wary of such tactics.
