Ok. I'm guilty of lurking and not posting enough.
If that's the rule, guess we'll just have to abide by it whether we agree or not
Wonder will the count requirements be increased if ppl start trying to get around it by posting more meaningless messages ; )

i can understand this rule. other forums i go to have this rule as well. and it is not 10, i think is like 50 counts before you can post on garage sales threads.
i registered some time back but did not post, did not even log in until recently.
posting now not cause i am trying to get enough post counts to post in sales forum, but cause i want to share and learn from people here.
cheers.

Outsiders have no right to demand explaination of any house rules implemented by Romans in their own city but it will be real nice for the Romans to step forward to explain the logic of implementing certain house rules that outsiders consider unfriendly. Also, good guess that sometimes quality means more than quanitity in term of posting in a forum for sharing information among forumers.

SG-ROC is a club, a club in the form of a social forum. Hence its primary objective/function is for social networking/sharing experience of watches, not as a market place.
Imagine you run a real club with free membership, and the members only come in to buy and sell things using the club facility.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

Agree to disagree. I believe it's also the forum owner's interest to grow the member size of the forum. If "marketplace" is the prime attraction of the site, imho, it would be good to leverage on it, to attract people joining the forum. Members contributing to the forum should be encouraged and not because obligated to.
Possible outcomes:
1. Turning people to alternatives
2. Encouraging unnecessary posts
