Airport Express costs you $90 HKD one way. If your hotel is in Kowloon area, can alight at Kowloon Station and walk to MTR (normal train) for a ride to Tsim Sha Tsui station, otherwise alight at Hong Kong station if your hotel is in Hong Kong island.

Octopus card can be purchased at any MTR station, it does not cost much and using the train is the easiest way to travel around. Taxi is very expensive.

      1) Do visit The Peak (Victoria Peak) at the Hong Kong Island using the tram. You will be delusion with the tram traveling 60 degree vertically towards the sky. Depending on the weather, you should see spectacular views while at the peak overseeing central Hong Kong island.

      2) There are lots of night markets in Kowloon Peninsula (e.g., ladies' street market, temple street, goldfish market, electronic/mobile phone markets (Sai Yeung Choi Street)).

      3) If you are into browsing for electronic goods (e.g. Sim Lim Square or Funan Mall).
Some of the goods sold are not cheap though.
      a) Golden Computer Centre/Arcade at Sham Shui Po station and,
      b) Mong Kok Computer Centre at Mong Kok station

      4) If you're into sightseeing at temples or pray for good luck, go to;
      a) Tin Hau temple (near Temple street market) at Yau Ma Tei station,
      b) Wong Tai Sin temple at Wong Tai Sin station
      c) Man Mo temple at Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan (many antique shops are found at this Hollywood Road),
      d) Ten Thousand Buddhas monastery at Sha Tin station
      e) Po Lin monastery at Lantau island (take MTR to Tung Chung station and take a 40 minutes ride on a small bus winding up to the mountain).

There are many more interesting places to visit and I couldn't list all.

Sorry, not sure if it is the same
          Yes, there are the same.

          1) MTR is like our MRT
          2) Airport Express is like our LRT (but their MTR is express service from Airport to City area, only 5 stations)

If you are flying with certain Airlines such as Cathay or SQ, you can also check-in your luggage directly at some Airport Express stations, hence you only need to travel without your luggage to the airport. But please check with Airport Express first.

          • If you're into drinking and eating, you may find some good places (e.g. Soho (South of Hollywood Road), some are very expensive and some are not) along or near the Central-Mid-Levels escalators (Hong Kong island).

Central-Mid-Levels escalators is the longest outdoor covered escalators in the world. There are some intersection breaks between roads.

              • There are many watch boutiques at Prince's Building, Central station, near Mandarin Oriental Hotel (HK actor committed suicide here) and Statue Square.

                  • Wise choice, it is a very nice and good hotel in hong kong island.

Sheraton hotel is also good. Request for top floor and harhour view, but it is expensive at $300.00++ USD depending on seasons especially Christmas.

                      • There are many shops in this area, and in the back alley. Shop till you drop.

Ignore those touts (non-asian) who pass flyers around or say cheap items for sale.

Even the ladies street market is in this area, but beware of pick pockets when visiting night markets or walking in crowded places.

                            • Seems like have to take pre-caution to spread out the safe keeping of cash, and also be on special alert in crowded places. Toilet also can happen!!!

Truly amazing. First time, I heard of this.

I only heard keep awake when traveling in buses or trains, otherwise pick pockets may target dreamers.
