      Hi all,

HKG prices varies significantly from shop to shop, and if you manage to find some reliable distributor, the prices can be very competitive..but it has to be reliable as a novice will not be able to check the genuine parts in a watch.

Prices are a lot more competitive in Europe, the best places to get Rolex atm is Milan, Copenhagen or the Mediterranean island where your cruise ship stops.

I ever thought of going to second hand shops and look for watches during overseas vacations. However, every time when I'm there, I tend to want to do other things like sight seeing than looking at watches.

In my humble opinion, I don't worry about contracting 'bad luck' from second hand watches. To me, just a nice clean up and everything is good. I have been purchasing second hand stuffs (watches and others) since I started working. Most people in Singapore really takes good care of their stuffs. My experiences have been good so far. I can't say anything about HK since I have no experience.

        Your mileage may vary!

Very interesting when i saw this quote :

Planning ahead is a measure of class.
The rich and even the middle class plan for future generations,
but the poor can plan ahead only a few weeks or days.

          If you fail to plan,
          You plan to fail.

HK is located just beside Shenzhen luohu where fakes are being sold everywhere. Buying watch accessories is fine but not luxury watches in HK. Moreover the price is kinda higher than if it were to be gotten from Singapore. Experienced this myself recently.

Some preowned watches are cheaper in Hong Kong. However for safety reason you may not want to take the risk there cos you might got into some super class replicas.
Just another small small small small watch user ....

HK is generally cheaper by ard 10-15% for watches compared to SGP... but unless u do ur own research and have a trusted 2nd hand dealer there..... i would advise to stick to buying from SGP...

recently went ona trip to HK and made my way to a couple of the watch shops. prices in my opinion is that its a bit cheaper as compared to SG. probably due to exchange rates as well. but most doesn't come with box or certs.
