u mean where to go? 1 is city but the other country leh...too vague...

in seoul, myeongdung is the shopping district, but the fun part is nandaemun market, where u there are snakes of street stalls to look c look c. (avoid summer)....& avoid itaewon, it's (too)touristy...a couple of museums too won't hurt, lotte world if u have kids and dmz if u dun mind traveling out of seoul....i been to seoul many times (though 4 work) and it is actually nothing much to see there (imo) and expensive too....cab drivers will always feign ignorance to where u want to go (language barrier altho' translation is a phone call away in the cab).
[add,; start] eat live squid just for kicks, sashimi korean style is damn solid....drink korea rice wine....eat puffer fish, korean pancake...and if u like krispy kreme donuts, no need to go to US, they have a branch in seoul, i think at lotte shopping mall (the one near westin chosun) [add; stop]
not my fav city....shanghai is different altogether.

in shanghai, i guess the mandatory bund and peace hotel.nanjing road is over-rated, but i guess it's every tourist's destination ...u shld try walk around the old quarters. a lot of french and european design influenced buildings still around. the best part is walk hand-in-hand with a shanghainese maiden in cool autumn or spring..best feeling in the world (speaking fm experience ), just dun get caught if u r married! also, have dinner at hyatt, jinmao, the tallest hotel in the world, better still, stay there for the night. u get unreal view of shanghai, day and nite....if u miss singapore while in shanghai, there's a raffles city mall(not far off nanjing road) there to bring u closer to home, with breadtalk in tow....wanna get pick up? go to xintiandi...bauhaus pauliner bar is almost a sure bet for picking up locals...many will approach u in the pretext of learning english...take the maglev train from the airport, and get the sensation of 341km/h speed...get a foot reflexology...cheap and damn shiok....buy your fav latest dvd seriels there..if u want to do what backpackers do, take bus #911 to roam around..go visit sun yet sen villa. amazing place (singapore's one a pale comparison)....and if u like, i know where they distribute `rubber' for free (not only bangkok does that apparently)....

of cos there is the tourist guide book 4 u.....

been to seoul for short biz trip so cant really tell you where shld you go. But please avoid the stupid palace, not worth to see. Its not as magnificant as the forbidden palace in china lo.

But, but, one thing must buy are stuffs made from korea like THE FACE SHOP, Lanegie etc. The sheet mask from The face shop is damn cheap lo 10 for S$10 whereas here is 3 for S$10. Plus they will give u lotsa samples to try

Check out the peace hotel band at shanghai, they have a good band playing old chinese songs.
Walk around the bund or head to tianzifang for nice shopping.

In Shanghai go Xin Tian Di for drinks at night. Go Nan Jing Dong Lu for shopping. Go Cheng Huang Miao to eat the famous Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao. Go Bund area for picture taking at night. Go some 会所 for massage to relax.

              I miss Shanghai!!!

                        Shopping in korea

For shopping I would recommend hongdae/myeongdong underground or gangnam underground/ nambus bus terminal. There are a lot of affordable shopping for the younger generations. However if you do prefer quality shopping. I would recommend Dcube City shopping centre/Shinsaegae shopping centre /lotte department store /Hyundai department stores. There are many quality cosmetics available as well as famous Korean brands clothes/bags/shoes etc.

Jeju is a great place to go during Oct-Nov when it is not too cold. Rent a car and enjoy the scenic drive to many nice attractions like Yeongsil and Eorimok (sp??).
