i would strongly recommend bandung, now got direct flight. in the past have to fly to jakarta and then drive 2 hours over.

good for shopping / makan / spa

HK is a nice destination for a few days..go off the beaten track and go to Lama island for hiking...Stay away from Admiralty and Central for now though..it's unstable but not chaotic yet.

Krabi instead of phuket.
Much cheaper and less tourist.
Good for outdoor sports.
kayaking swimming rock climbing island hoping and snorkeling.
Just came back from there with a return ticket of 120 dollars! =))
