Been to Taipei, Taiwan, and some other states/cities there. Disappointingly, the luxury watches there were more expensive than Singapore. There wasn't a tax rebate when I asked. Most retailers told me the tax rebate whatsoever were factored in to the price already.

Maybe things might have changed over years.

Why is that? As I've experienced they don't have sales tax, while prices seem to be relatively similar to local ADs..

Taiwan taxt refund about 4.8%. Some shopping like Q Square can do under one roof. Some outside shop like AD refund in airport can be done. But i think not much deference buying in sg. But ok if you not really fussy because some ppl just want to buy things outside sg.
