this unique psycho-thriller is a remake of "13 game sayawng", a 2006 Thai movie written and directed by Chukiat Sakveerakul. i thought that was quite a decent film, but if you have watched it, you may agree with me this hollywood remake is a better version - in terms of the acting, plot and twists, and the series of increasingly disgusting and horrific 'missions' that will satisfy even hard-core horror fans
apart from the gore, the film explores human behaviour and moral values, when manipulated with the lure of money. how far will you deviate from social-norms, go against your principles, or even forsake what is most important to you, all for the sake of money? while the story and the missions may seem utterly ridiculous, the film maker demands the viewers this question: what do you measure your morals and ethics with, and how far will you deviate for financial gain?
