If you don't mind Italian food and stretching your budget a little, give Basilico at level 2 of The Regent Singapore a try. We celebrated our wedding anniversary dinner there and had a very pleasant evening.

There're options for la carte, buffet and also the very good "Basilissimo", a 3-course semi buffet which I'ld strongly. The Basilissimo starts with Antipasti Buffet from the counter, main course and ends with a huge (IMO) selection of cakes, pastries and gelato at Dessert Buffet counter.
Mondays to Sundays, 6:30pm to 10pm
S$88++ (Basilissimo only - 3 Course Semi Buffet)
S$123++ (with 2 glasses of wine)
If don't want to eat so much, can opt out of the Basilissimo Set Menu and do only the Antipasti Buffet and Dessert Buffet for S$64++.

                          Have fun ^_^

Just celebrated by wife's BD dinner at Kanda-Wadatsumi, my wife enjoyed the dinner very much and strongly recommended this restaurant to my in-laws too.

This restaurant is recommended to me by my Japanese colleague when I sought his help to find an authentic yet not-too-expensive Japanese restaurant. His not-too-expensive resulted in a >$200 bill in my wallet, but no regrets, their service/food is excellent and most importantly, my wife enjoyed the dinner. We had the "Omakase" 9 course set dinner ($120 per set), miso marinated Japanese cod fish fillet, hot thin udon noodles, Japanese egg omelette topped with cod roe, Japanese cockles miso soup, and others.

The restaurant is located at 50 Tras Street (along the same stretch with lots of bridal shops, 5 mins walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station). I would strongly recommend making a reservation (6221 6264) before heading down to avoid disappointment.

After dinner, we went for a short walk at Gardens by the Bay and watched the free "Garden Rhapsody" musical light show at Supertree Grove. It was a really enjoyable "Pat-Tor" evening

                                Have fun
