there was a claypot rice store at Clementi, called lucky claypot or something. They use charcoal to cook hence takes a while to cook (hence wait, hence queue). Not sure where it has moved to. Any ideas?

The one from clementi 328 moved to commonwealth market and now moved to holland drive food market. Their name is New Lucky Claypot chicken rice, opens for lunch and dinner but last order around 8pm. Their soup is good also, sold out very quickly. Must call them for booking before going down. Unfortunately the carpark beside the market is small.

You wash the rice, cook the rice, smelly smelly a claypot of rice need 20 mins of making. Most stalls simply cannot cope with the crowd during meal time. This is a fact and cannot short cut. Unless you can increase production w/o compromising quality - it still a difficult business

Times will change ones expectation in term of taste? With all the older generation hawkers decided to call it a day and younger generations not keen to take on this trade..

Updates for a couple of stores that were mentioned here....

                              1. The one at holland v hawker centre used to be at commonwealth crescent hawker centre

                              2. Margaret drive one (the one on 2nd level) moved to Alexandra village hawker centre.

Both got number can call to order first.... Then slowly slowly go down later...
