$4 isn't always thought to be good value but this one surely is.
Sim Lim Square Broadway food-court Bak Chor Mee hits the spot with its generous spread of sauce and ingredients that includes fishball, mock abalone, thick fish cake slices, a prawn and fried teo-chew dumpling, noodles, plenty of bean-sprouts and of course, mince pork and the must have fried flat fish. What's more is that extra noodles comes free of charge!
For a mere dollar more, a bowl of 3 scrumptious dumplings will be added to the mix.
But the best thing is...the free flow servings of garnish and sauce. From ketchup to vinegar to mince garlic with chilli padi and lashings of freshly fried pork lard...
It's really good, not the very best I've ever tried, maybe because of the missing liver (must be barely cooked) but the generous portion, free flow garnishes more than make up for it. Even with my usual request for extra noodles, there's still insufficient noodles to go with the ingredients. Now that's food for thought.... : )
