  • Let’s Talk Car Scents

Most of us that drive a car do have some kind of car freshener. Which type do you prefer?

For me, I like those in Gel form, Beads or Liquid such as these below.

My selection is based on… (not in any order)

    1) Sight – must be jello-type or liquid
    2) Smell – light pleasant fragrance, not strong over-powering ones
    3) Budget – This is really subjective but I cap it at not beyond say $10.00
    4) Shape – it should fit a particular spot in my car, stable enough not to spill

Be extra careful when buying those in can form. I realized this when I previously bought one and found out that I could have just buy a cardboard type for lesser. Example, like this below.

The one in can form was a rip-off for me because…

It doesn’t make scents to me lah!

frankly i get sick and intoxicated smelling those that look like what you posted especially after leaving your car in the hot sun, so i don't use any currently. But I have seen some in DIY shop that comes in 8 x 2 cm cans with different flavours like rose, strawberry etc that don't smell like mothballs, that i might try.

Yup the lightly scented ones are ok for me too.

I dont want my car smelling like a taxi

I'm fine with all sorts of car scents, but my favourite is the scent coming from the leather of new cars!

I really like Airwick white peach.. Very pleasant smell and not overpowering. I always tear half of the alu foil.

Throttle, thanks for the tip. Armor All is a cheaper alternative to my Z-10 leather treatment.
Anyway, you're so right! Nothing beats the smell (scent) of a new car!!!

Sometimes wonder how safe these products are? Daily breathing in the stuff.
