Will a watch winder shorten a watch's life

If the engine kept running more than needed, the mechanism inside will tends to wear out faster. I wear my automatic watch every weekends, so just need to re-adjust the time & this can save the wear & tear inside the watch.

Does anyone agree?

this has already been discussed many times before. maybe you like to use the SEARCH function and use the keywords such as watch winder and try the search options such as search thread title only and/or search in posts

Lifespan...I would not say that it would reduce the life span.

It only means that you have to go for servicing alittle more frequently than one that hasn't been in winder.

A mechical watch's life span is approx 250 years,so no worries about it. Hehe

i rewind every wkend. no point putting on winder,waste elec & cause wear & tear.

It is therapeutic winding up the watch. So I do without a winder, I ensure that my movements are not left motionless beyond 1 month.
