  • aviva reject my application of car insurance

    Hello Folk

i just wan to share , i had called up Aviva for a car insurance quotation. My car is practically stock from factory except i upgraded my suspension to coilover. My previous original honda suspension were spoilt. The customer service officer called back and state that the quotation was rejected due to the coilover.

    kinda shocking

insurer may consider it as a major modification, and their rationale for rejecting your application is likely a modified car with enhanced performance poses a higher risk on the road

      It is not shocking.
Aviva is known not to allow any form of modification.
As long it is not stock, they will not entertain.

Its really ridiculous, i even heard changing of rims could result in your claim rejected.

What changes can you do and still qualify or is tit bcos AVIVA is the one of the cheapest provider and hence they are more strict?
            Any idea folks?

Will installing of in-car video recorder void your insurance claim because the insurer can argue it interfere with the car electrical signals.

Actually, the agent company (not to be confused with the insurer) makes a difference. If their clients have claimed numerous times/total loss, their rates are going to be less competitive.

I managed to get my mods insured and i paid a premium.
