With $15k to spend, I think very much depend on what you want. For everyday watch? For function event dinner watch?

Good to have suggestions here but ultimately follow your heart. Get the watch(es) that sing to you. Like most of us, we do go though some brands before settling down with one(s) that we like and not sell. I went through Rolex, Sinn, IWC, Panerai, Omega, AP, etc. Sold the rest and happily settled for AP, Panerai and Sinn (as a tool watch).

$15k can buy alot of watches. You can add others into the shortlist besides just a daytona. Like some mentioned, an AP ROO/Big Pilot would be nice as well (which is what i prefer imo). Top up a few more k and i would get the YM-II haha.

Get a used AP diver or top up a bit for a used F/G AP ROO

First a Daytona, then for the next 15K+ an AP RO 15400, then for 40-60K, a Nautilus (no firm reference in mind). Jeez...that's anything for 70k from 90k.
