Difference b/w local watch shop versus Imported watches

Hi,

Am keen to buy from say an imported watch from a dealer for a rolex watch but what is the risk involved? Or is it better to get it from a local shop like Hour Glass....

1. affect the resell value of watch
2. How to verify the authenticity? Normally how much does rolex Singapore charge & how long do they take?

i) the watches are all the same at any ADs throughout the world, they all come from the same rolex factory
ii) singapore ADs are 'oversea ADs' to any tourists visiting singapore; likewise all your oversea ADs are local ADs to the inhabitants of the individual countries
