WhatsApp no longer free...will you pay?

I understand that developers need to earn and I would put whatsapp alongside with the greatest innovation (though not invention) for the past 5 years. I would definitely pay, too dependent on it already.

The only time I will stop paying is when it starts charging too much and everyone decides not to use it anymore. Once it happens, whatsapp will lose it appeal (and very purpose) for communication among friends.

Developers need to be fed.
So long they are not asking for values higher than that provided by their software, it is reasonable to buy.
US$0.99 is an amount even lesser than ERP.

0.99 yearly for that number of messages going out is good I guess. SMS also cost more and whatsapp uptime and reliabiliyt much better than our telcos, heh. 99c is quite fair I guess

My whatsapp was supposed to expire yesteraday. 5 days before, it prompted me a mesage "Whatsapp will expire in 5 days. Do you want to extend? - Yes/No". I touched on the "No" button and the message closed. Then yesterday it flashed a message "Whatsapp has been extended". I went in to check the expiry date and saw that it had been extended by 30 days.

So I will see what happens the next expiry comes. I will try to choose "Yes" if prompted again and see if it leads me to make payment...

Frankly we can't do much with a dollar these days. Why not support a company/people who created such a useful app that we use daily.
