How I influent the prices of resale watches

Clearing leaves at home nothing to do, so decided to share with you my secret…

This is what I would do to push up the prices of a watch I own…

1. Create a WTS thread of the watch with a very high asking price
2. State on the thread “PM to deal”, or use a random email address as contact. Never give my handphone no.
3. Never mind if no one PM me (expected hehe)
4. Pretend to “bump” the thread one or two times
5. After a few days, reply to my own sale thread “watch is sold”
6. Never attend any gathering so no one ever see my face
7. If I ever need to meet up some members for a real deal, pretend I am not a forum member or tell them one of my other nicks

What? To pull down the prices of a watch I want to buy? Easy lah…

1. Create a WTS thread of the watch with a below-market asking price
2. State on the thread “PM to deal”, or use a random email address as contact. Never give my handphone no.
3. Never mind about the PM/emails coming in (coz I have no watch to sell mah)
4. If I receive too many PM/emails within hours, reply to my own thread “watch on hold” (coz cannot say “sold” so fast mah)
5-7 same as above.

Good idea right, hehe…

OR, you can create 5 different accounts posting 5 threads of the same watch, with different prices, artifically driving the average price up or down depending on what your agenda is.

Same rules apply, no mobile contact, just PM.

At least you are doing subtlety. I once encountered some idiot who post on my thread to lowball my prices. That same idiot repeat the same on another member thread who was selling the same watch.

Maybe some of these unusual sales over the forum are genuine...for example, a preowned Omega Seamaster 007 LE with a LIMITED production of 10007 pcs asking for $10007 actually got sold.

There is still alot of ppl willing to do so because here still cheaper compared to AD, grey AD and preown shop.

1) easy to understand this exposes the weakness in this online deal, so making preowned shop happy in the end. Newbie will be afraid to buy here, if they have not done enough homework. Count myself lucky to buy only once here, all my others are new from AD.

2) such acts are also likely waste of time, it not difficult to check and find out how much a model really worth, we are all connected by same internet, maybe we shall also do more by exposing crazy prices here, to help those innocent new Rolex owner.
