Datejust (white dial) or Expo 2(white) ?

Expo 2 would be a better choice. It's sporty and suitable for formal occasion. DateJust is meant for formal events, IMO. Moreover, nowadays man prefers bigger watch. Expo 2 42mm is very good, though DateJust 2 41mm is equally good size.

Breitling77, agreed with you that Expo 2 is nicer, one of my favourite watch in my collection. Date Just is formal, so it is like a get-it-safe gift for his function, at least he will wear it for sure. But on the popularity, that is something I am not sure of DJ.

As I haven't seen many person (in their 30s) wearing Date Just around in Singapore. No offence to DJ's lover, as I may have missed some out.

Age Mid 30, don't know his collection but seen him wearing some Tag Huer and Longines (mostly sizes 38mm I think) for daily work. Not sure the 42mm of Expo 2 will bother him or not?

hmm, based on what he already has, i think the exp 2 will be a better choice as an alternative to the existing pieces he has. Plus, as many have said, exp 2 can be worn formal & non-formal..

as for the age... ya, also dunno anyone who has only the datejust at dat age group unless he got 1 sports piece.. so ya, a sports edition to start off the rolex collection is a gd idea..
