Given a choice, assuming price of all 3 pieces is around a certain range, basing solely on looks, brand, functionality, which will be your choice if you are in the position?

- Brand New Patek Philippe Nautilus 5711 (blue dial)

- Pre-owned IWC Big Pilot Perpetual Calendar (Steel version)

- Pre-owned IWC Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

I got a small wrist and prefer an expensive watch new. So it has to be the Patek Philippe in this case.

The complicated dials of the IWC models you mentioned are eyesores IMO. Dunno where to start telling the time. Need to ask yourself whether all the displays are necessary for your activites of daily living.

On the otherhand, a simpler elegant dial of PP pedigree will command a lot more attention (and respect), assuming that it is within the same price range. Even if all 3 models you were considering were IWCs, i would still go for the most classic/simple dial amongst the 3. Sometimes less, is actually more.

Pp for me. It*s a patek ( a different league to iwc; somemore brand new).

comparing between PP and IWC, PP is more prestigious.

however if you are looking for complications, then IWC is the one. unless you going for a PP perpetual calendar.

I voted PP in this case.
Perceptual calendar is hard to read generally. Complications are good to admire, expensive to service and delicate.
