Hi..sorry if I flooded ROC --- probably a sign of a desperate guy looking to grab the first float on a sinking boat.

Well here is how it was started:

Jamy (11.54am first morning after I took over the watch the previous night): Bro, your watch I juz realise is running 15mins slow...I juz realise Im late 4 my appt until i saw the actual time on my phone. I hope its not a problem. Thks.

Paul: Nah shouldnt be a problem I use it for work...Do a full wind Would be fine.

Jamy (11.58am) : I juz wind and only 4 turn and its max means still got power...so cant lose 15 mins...I will monitor it. Thks.

jamy (12.18am): It was ok from late night until now when I was shock that its 15mins slow. Tot maybe didnt wind but only 4 turn already full so cant be no power. I hope is not some inherent problem that u are aware of that Im not. thks.

Paul : There are no inherent prob I know of and no problem when I was using it leh. Honestly ran fine whenever I used and could hold power well

Jamy: OK, I trust a fellow christian bro. Thks.

So generally this is how it goes on the first day after I took over the previous night. Do I sounded like I was jumping all over him?
Actually come to think of it...days earlier when I wanted to meet him he said he didnt wear the watch to school so would be a problem going home to pick it up and rush to meet me. So he never actually wore it all the time so he may not be aware of the problem since during that space of time it was not worn.

Anyway I have already send my proposal to Paul and I hope its acceptable to him. Anything S$100 I will pay for it myself. All I want is his attention to my problem -- I believe generally I am someone nice and fair to deal with. Those folks on this forum who have deal with me (without even a single transaction) can testify to that --- often times I share things opening if they dont agree with my offer and at times I will inform them if I see something that they were looking for like for instance how I took the trouble to source for the local agent for Rubber B strap for a member and inform him. I dont do this for money but for friendship but I dislike when someone asked for something and they neither acknowledge after you took the trouble to reply them. Its not all about money. I wouldnt hesitate to pay the taxi fare for someone I sold my watch to like what I did recently for a young N.S guy who bought my Seiko Vintage diver. For me he took the trouble to rush to my place after 9PM and he has to go home to the east side and I often look at the situation and the need/profile of buyer. I recently had a JC student interested to buy my Rolex Datejust and my Brietling but I ask him why he wanted to buy a "old man" watch that will not look nice on a 18 year old student but he replied its for his dad and so I suggested he bring his dad to my place as I feel more comfortable dealing with his dad around if you know what I mean. I dont make a living out of selling watches. If I can make a little profit then its nice if not I lose a little which is fine. At the end of the day its not about money..its about getting enjoyment out of these watches we have. But of course for those where selling and buying is their bread and butter then of course each have its own policy in guiding the way they run their business because they have over heads to pay for. Thanks. Have a good weekend.

Nothing. I don't give warranty. I only say the watch is fine with me but i cannot guarantee its accuracy as I never service them. They buyers know and they buy with that knowledge.

Hi. OK I guess both paul and i learn a lesson and hopefully everyone can learn from it as well. Like in my line of work I always tell my guys if they are lucky they will learn a lesson at someone's expense but if you are unfortunate then someone else will learn it at their expense. So everyone here got a free lesson from both Paul and I and I hope come up wiser.
Let paul and I settle this final lapse. Hopefully my proposal is accaptable to him and we all move on not as enemy but as friend.
Sometimes trouble and disagreement will further better understanding and enhance the relationship further.

Thanks and my heart felt gratitude for everyone's contribution. Have a great weekend.

        Best Regards,Jamy

You don‘t even have money back gurantee if watch or parts of the watch is fake?
              Kinda funny.

If i have a fake watch or a watch with fake parts that i know, I wouldn't be selling it. I authenticate all my watches after i buy them and before i sell them. Only a jerk sells a fake watch knowing it's fake. Funny u need to even ask.

If one gives a warranty on a watch and does not include warranty on the timing (say within +-10secs) then something major is wrong with that person. I don't care if the watch is magnetised or the movement is shaken after the sale, a timing issue is a timing issue. Short of the buyer smashing the watch with a hammer or throwing it from 20 floors down a pavement, of which clear signs of trauma would be seen anyway, all timing issues should be under the warranty if one gives a "warranty".

You don't give a watch warranty and say i cover the colour of the dial will remain the same colour for 5 months. That's just BS.

If you give a warranty just so that you could sell the watch and not intending to honour it, then you are in serious trouble, both as a seller and as a person. Buyers might not want to buy a watch if no warranty even verbally, is given.

If Jamy's watch is not damaged physically, there's a chance the watch is inherently running wild or got magnetised before or after the sale. None is important, bececause the seller gave a warranty. ANd if that warranty doesn't include timing issues, then he shouldn't be selling a watch in a watch forum.

If you are not sure your watch is running fine, don't give a warranty. Worse if you use the word warranty in a sms. That's evidence.
If you are not prepared to honour a warranty, don't give it.
If you have terms and conditions in your warranty, it should be spelled out in words, even in a sms. Else, it's just non existent.

Lesson learned in this, never take any warranty given verbally in forums seriously. The consequences can be serious.

Never give a warranty just to sell a watch fast and not take responsibility for it. Even if the watch was fine when u had it, u warrantied it, so it's your duty to fix it. Simple as that.

Jamy, if u really like the watch, fix it and move on.
Impossible for a vintage omega to run +\- 10 sec per day.

                      I bought a 1950 longines,it gain 5 min a day.
To me is fine, old watches is old man.

Even if I sent back to factory,it will run more than 10sec per day after
                      complete overhaul.

All your watches have the Rolex Verification reciept?
                        Your post doesn‘t shows that.
And what if, I only say if, one buyer after a few months later tell you that your watch has a fake part and wanted a refund, what will be your reaction?

If i did not give a warranty before the sale, then all is good when the transaction is done(one could always sign a sales agreement stating goods are all good upon delivery as evidence ). The buyer is free to authenticate in RSC(assumming rolex) before the deal. If he doesn't want to authenticate, then it is his duty to ensure everything is fine before the sale. If i do not give a warranty and the buyer agrees to buy it, then anything after the sale is the buyer's responsibility. WHo knows what parts he could change after that? I will not be responsible for it, unless i gave a warranty on parts being genuine. If the buyer is out to con me by changing parts taking advantage of my warranty on parts, then i will change the parts for him in RSC and that would be the last and that buyer would be marked.
Why not you buy a rolex from AD and then change any part of it (like bezel or crystal) and then go back and ask for a full refund, see if u get any warranty or refund? Maybe u do, or maybe u end up in jail. You dare to try?
But im not selling fake watches or parts so wtf should i care about such hyperbolic questions?

Bro, please read and understand. Is it too difficult for you?
if u give warranty, then it's still your problem once leave your hand...unless crystal shattered or watch hammered.
if u didn't give warranty, then it's not your problem once leave your hand...even timing issues..
In this case, the seller gave a verbal warranty..albeit terms and conditions...so he is not entirely out of it.
