  • Cannot Be Trusted!!!!

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanna share a horrible experience earlier today at a watch shop in Bencoolen St, B..... T...

Datejust 116200/M Oyster Bracelet (preowned May 08, Overseas AD) asking $5900 card / $5600 cash.

Run a quick check with local AD, $5800 cash!!!!!BRAND NEW!!!!!!

Just to caution forumers, just cannot trust all preowned shops, though they dress well, good shopfront. Also means they got SHARP Chopper & Board waiting for carrots & radishes...

errr.... why do u say "cannot be trusted"? did they mislead u?

from what i read, their price was more than AD's price. that's all....

cannot blame the dealer, customers must do leg work otherwise risk being taken for a ride.

i see nothing wrong with the shop quoting whatever price. if the price is something you not comfortable with. dont deal.

what i sense from the thread starter is that he wants to warn fellow members about the prices quoted by any shops.

as usual, i usually say, do homework.

agreed. homework pays off. but you must be prepared to put in hard yard before reaping any rewards.

I think so too... it is a fair market between buyer and seller...

Many branded jewellery stores also selling same quality, same cut diamond at a premium too... the only difference is the names they gave to the diamonds they are selling. So can they be trusted?

Very strange that the shop will quote you such a price given the price the AD is offering. Did you pi** the shop operator off big time...?

now at a time like this ADs is giving more disc trying to close sale esp when the payment mode is CASH.So differences is very minimum comparing to preloved. I was quoted for $7k for a sub LV last wk at chinatwn preown shop (NOT Pheng Hwee),gone upstairs to an AD asked quoted me for $7.5k.Difference of $500 dollars...BNIB from AD,and 5 yrs old preloved sub LV.( not to mentioned possible risks involved buying preowned ) Is your call end of the day...
