  • A lemon again

First it's my brand new zenith defy that went in and out of service centre 6 times and I was without it for over 8 months. They finally replaced it with a new watch but I sold it immediately having sworn that Zenith will never have a place in my collection.

And now, my less than 2 weeks old JlC navy seal alarm completely stopped. Doesn't work at all, all hands stopped. I'm thinking if I should send it in to Richemont to service or bring to Cortina for an exchange based on our newly passed lemon law? Will they even exchange is another story.

I'm not pissed but rather disappointed that it happened to me again.

    that's downright shi**y luck!
bring it back to cortina and ask for a new piece as replacement...

OMG, i still remember reading about your Zenith experience back then. Perhaps should try cortina first, see what they can do.

That is certainly very disappointing and irritating.

Costing top dollars, one would expect them to be reliable.

In reality, many are less reliable than ETA. Haiz

I would ask for a one to one exchange.

Hang in there bro. Try for one to one exchange but I think it might difficult because little or no exisiting stock.

Even with the 1000 hours test, lemon still exists. even for PP.

I'll try to do an exchange cos the watch feels different after repair. The feeling of a new watch is gone!

They will monitor it for 15 days and let me know...apparently, they got it started again (i've no idea how they do it..even the counter gal couldn't get it started after winding when i sent it in)...then after 15 mins....the watch came out and it's working again (i was told i sent in the watch with the zero power in the watch..but i explained that i wound it 30+ rounds and shook it hard yesterday and it didn't work). Asked me standard questions like did i drop the watch, did i place it near electronic appliances....told the gal it's in a watch box and hell no i didn't drop it otherwise there'll be a dent/scratch.

now..it's +33sec faster when they regulated it. For a new watch to run fast in such short span of time...what can i say? well, now it's in the hands of a qualified technician.

i still place my trust in the brand/make just like i did for Zenith until i was proven wrong...we'll see how it goes...
