Visual Difference Between Powder-coated and PVD-coated watches

Just to check with members here…

Is there any visual difference between stainless steel bracelets with Powder Coating and those that are PVD coated?

From what I think, one could tell the difference when the metal is dark, matte and the underlying metal finishing is totally not visible; it has been powder-coated.

Whereas, if the metal is a lighter shade of black (gun-metal or grayish) and the underlying metal finishing is visible, this is PVD-coated.


Please correct me if I’m wrong.
