  • Value of the watch

Hi guys, how do you decide what should be the price you'll be paying for a watch?

For eg. I saw an Omega Aqua Terra on the forums which I wanna buy but I'm not too sure if it is over priced, esp when there is such a huge range on this watch.

    Any advise?

You are referring to brand new or used watches? For brand new, it all depends on your budget and the price is more or less quite fixed. As for used, you can check the current price of brand new ones and see how old is the used model, conditions etc, then do the necessary estimation. But there are used models which are discontinued or in huge demand, then the price may be high though it's used.

You have asked a tough question which hard to have right or wrong answer. If the model that you are keen is still available then you can make a quick comparison with the pricing. If the difference is not much then I think you should get a brand new piece.

Watch in question is referring to one in the second hand market. And indeed it is discountinued and I can't seem to find many people selling in the forums. That's where I'm afraid as I don't have much reference to the market price of the watch!

best is to check with physical 2nd hand retail shops. And then since you are buying direct from owners, give yourself a good 5-10% discount! =)
