  • What is your ideal size of a watch (excluding crown)

Up until some 3 years ago, I believed firmly that the big watch trend would be over soon (and refused to buy a PAM). I was proven wrong and the trend had since become a norm with even brand like Rolex coming out with bigger size watch for many of its classic/evergreen models.

So just wanna have a poll to see how "big" has this trend grown.

For the sake of accuracy, this poll is for male only

I know the thickness and length of lugs do matter, but let's generalised a bit here and talk case size only

Maybe it's more fun to see who has voted what...mods is it possible to change?

I have a huge wrist and anything lesser than 42mm looks funny or too small. This sucks for me when it comes to getting a dress watch which to date had remained elusive....

I guess "big" or "small" is a matter of perception and can be subjective. Some people I know just can't understand how a 44mm watch is considered the "right size" on a tiny wrist < 6.5"

I observe from some foreign watch forums that there are two types of watch enthusiast among the ang-mo when come to watch size: one type who worries if a particular watch of 40mm or 41mm would be too big on the wrist, while the other type won't wear anything small than a 44mm PAM.

Take for example our shirts. When I was younger the right size was L or XL, coz last time everybody wore the shirts loose loose one and half tuck-in half tuck-out.

Now I wear M or even S coz the trend is slim fit, even though it makes my tummy looks more obvious

I tend to agree that it's all in the mind. Unless, of course, if you are comparing two extremes, meaning a ladies' ROLEX 26mm case watch on an 'Arnold Schwarzenegger' wrist size. From what I gathered, and on the contrary, the Caucasians tend to prefer smaller case watches than the bigger ones.

I am fine with anything above 34mm and below 47mm, depending how the watch case is designed. But preferably, anything between 38mm and 40mm is good for me.

Have you considered IWC? There are many large dress watches in its current portfolio - thick (7 days auto) or thin (8 days hand wind, portuguese hand wind), you name it

A 44mm Pam is the maximum i can pull off.

A 44mm ROO however is too big for me due to the fixed extended lugs / end links - which sucks for me coz i really like the ROOs

A 40mm Rolex is just about ideal.

                          Sounds like my exact situation.

                          I have a 6.25" wrist - day time/outdoor 6.3", night time/indoor with air-con 6.2", hahaha...
