The poll so far surprised me a little. I thought the big watches are more popular than what it shows here.
I am hoping to gather at least a hundred votes to draw an initial conclusion. If you are reading this and have not voted, kindly do so.Watches are like potato chips - You never stop at one

Just voted and thought give the thread a bump to help bro pegasi works towards the 100x votes target
Rolex range of sport watches e.g. the Submariner, have been 40mm since the 1960s. They are, imho, iconic and so don't really need to conform to the very latest fashions. Read from an article that the main reason Rolex increases the size of the EXP II to 42mm is due to the larger 3187 movement, not merely to get into fashion (it will be disastrous if Rolex does that). The new movement has both parachrome hairspring & parachoc shock protection.
Anyway, Rolex did not gain their reputation by following the fashions.... "Fashions fade, style is eternal!"
Just my thoughts.....

my personal take is that get a watch that fits your wrist size. if your wrist size is >7.5", a 36mm may look small and weird. likewise if your wrist size is 5", a 44mm may look odd.
sometimes it is not just the watch size that matters, it is also how the watch sits on your wrist. for example, a AP does not sit properly on my wrist due to the lugs. however, if you refer to my helson watch, it can sits snuggly on my wrist despite the angled lugs which is similar to AP.if you have issues with your account, click here for self help and read forum rules here. 90% of your answers can be found in Forum FAQ
