Need help on sapphire glass

Recently got a long scratch roughly 2cm long from the 8 o'clock to 12 on my bro panerai watch due to my careless when party in bkk during songkran festival.
Any watch guru able to advise how to get rid the scratch on the sapphire? Because the watch having anti reflective coating if im not wrong. Worst part is the warranty is already over.
By polishing isit able to get rid of the scratch? Or by changing a new piece of sapphire roughly how much it cost?
Due to urgent n needa get it fixed before my bro kills me. Any guru please help n thanks in advance

Just bring back to Richemont and get a quote. Shouldn't be too expensive just to replace the crystal. But I would suggest to leave it unless it is really a very bad scratch or the whole crystal shattered. I own 3 pams and 2 of my pams got slight scratches on the sapphire crystal. I don't know why but I feel that pam's crystal gets very easily scratched. I'm a very careful wearer but it just happens. I remembered it was just a very slight knock against my car then kena the scratch already. But I figured that no point replacing the crystal when I may scratch it easily again so just live with it...

If you can feel the scratches, then they are scratches on crystal, not AR coating.

Dun think you can polish off the scratches on the sapphire crystal...

Perhaps you should call Richmont for the price to replace it.

Yup, no way u can polish off the scratches and even u do, next thing that might happen will b a crack from shock if tat polishing done is too "deep".

Just live with it lor. . . Unlesss u really cant stand the scratch sight, then do a replacement fr RM.

Apologise deeply and sincerely to your bro and seek his understanding. If he can live with the scratch then lucky you, but if he really cannot, then too bad you got to pay to replace it at Richemont. My advise is just live with it if it is just a minor scratch. Scratches on sapphire crystal are common and unavoidable at times...

But i did read on net that having a polish stuff call cape cod cloths right? Will it helps?

honestly speaking... I always replaced, never tot of polishing as never got scratched but always got chipped from my watches...

Acrylic=yes can polish away if the scratch is light... so I believe same goes to sapphire...

IMO, if the scatches are not very bad, live with it. If it's replaced, it will get scratch again. If the scratches are very bad, then get it replaced. This will also prevent moisture from seeping in. If the watch is not water-proof, more damages to the internal mechanism and movements. And that will be more worse.

Sorry to hear about it but cape cod doesn't work on sapphire crystal. Only acrylic crystal.

I m not sure how much It costs for a pam glass replacement but I know rolex costs about $200, so pam maybe 300-400?

Please take note that sapphire glass is scratch resistant and not scratch proof. A bad hit by an object with pretty heavy force may scratch the crystal still.

I took my penknife and try it before, lightly go over the crystal, no problem...as my hand got itchier, I use abit more pressure...nothing happen. Then use more pressure...and there I saw a line on my sapphire glass. LLST went to change the glass. So much for a experiment. Haha

Def Not scratch-proof.... no sapphire crystal watch is.

How will scratch make moisture seep in ?? Ive personally seen 15y/old SUBS with massive scratches on commercial diver's wrists.... they are still fine in use, sure it "may" increase risk.... but unlikely.

With enough force you can break it. Same with diamond, though it is hard but i am sure it will break if you slam a sledgehammer on it
