For me, cars and watches both waste money. For me, usually with extra cash will think of buying property, if not worth buying like current market then think of which models to change. If can't bear to waste so much money, get a watch to cure the itch.
Call me shallow, but in image conscious singapore. Cars, i feel represent one's startus more. I would associate a person more with 'has made it" when i see him driving a Panamera than seeing him in a restaurant wearing a say an offshore or even nautalius 5712. Of course the panamera guy could be taking max 10 yr loan but still feel car more powerful image leh.

Futhermore , car easier to create impression la, u drive up in a panamera to fetch your wife waiting with her colleges, more likely to wow them i feel. U wear a rosegold RB2, unless u keep waving your hand, people prob won't notice. haha. and they won't even know whats a RB2 ! Driving a luxury car tell people : "Hey i can afford to add new Patek to my collection every year leh" haha

Do any of you have this dilemma? Example a Merc has around 15-20 k depreciation per year dependent on how long you hold onto it.
Thoughts?

To me car and address of the person says a lot about himself. Watch comes later..
You can own a genuine patek and take the mrt and nobody believes you if you tell them the watch is genuine..
Drive a Porsche and wears a fake Daytona and everybody assumes its genuine..
So see the bigger picture..
