  • HELP: Clock Repair

    Hi

We have a battery-operated clock (with sentimental value) that stopped working after it dropped from the table.

It is one of those single-AA cell type of mechanism (see photo).

Anyone knows where I can get it fixed, preferably East Coast / Marine Parade area?

    TIA

change the mechanism would be your best bet. if you are handy, can even buy and install yourself.

Well...I guess...there's not really you can do about this. Usually repairmen will advise you to get a new 1 because it's not worth to change the "engine". I guess if you want..just keep the clock aside la...in a nice box or something of course

BRO... I share your sentiment and being a wall clock, its NEVER easy to find one that you like that suits your house deco perfectly.

A year back, my UMBRA(ya not a branded one) wall clock mechanism seems faulty too, the clock cost about $69 to $89 but as the design fits my house deco perfectly, I was determined to repair it. (In fact, we took 3 yrs before buying a wall clock as all others we came across did not fit out theme).

Fortunately, a West Coast (telok Ayer market) where I worked has a clock repair shop, I left it with them and they've changed the engine to a Seiko movement which was more durable and accurate for <$30 or $40. I really can't recall...

I know you live in the East but if you really can't find any other solution, you may wana consider this option in the west. Best you go there on Weekday's abt 2pm as I am unsure if they are opened on Weekends.

              Good luck!!

                    Try Thinkers Novelty

You can find the neigbourhood watch and clock shop. They will most probably change the whole mechanism. If not, you can go down to Thinkers Novelty at Park Mall, but they may be a bit expensive, probably $50 to change. Here's their url:
